commissions-the process

  1. This painting is not done..although close. Here are some of the other parts of my dialog with the client.

"I am very excited about the work that you are doing for me. I've enjoyed your artwork (through Lindsey) for several years. I hope that by making some requests I haven't put any sort restriction on your artistic license. I appreciate this very much.

In attempt to answer your questions:

What was the color of the ring pop? The one that I have in my mind is red.

His favorite colors? My favorite color is orange... green is a close second

her favorite colors? S is a pink sort of girl. She loves it. Our wedding colors are fuscia and orange.

define your fiancee...is she more of a stripe? flower? or geometric? person(think in terms of clothing she wears and/or how her mind thinks) S is a woman who wants desperately to be "tough as nails", however, has a sensitivity/fragility that she can't ignore. I would describe her as a flower type of girl (loves patchouli, free spirits, color, flexibility etc). Perhaps combining those two themes... something like a flower in a desert or a delicate flower in the tundra during summer. Beauty and simplicity right in the middle of a harsh environment.

is she a girly girl or how would you describe her? I would describe her as a "girl next door" type. She's was a competitor (played field hockey/womens lacrosse) in college yet loves to dress up, be made up, wear heels, etc.

without being too personal..is it possible to know more about the significance of the clementine...other than that it somehow relates to their relationship? for example is it the whole fruit? or segments? "

I chose to not include part of the dialog/ answers here The rest is personal & not really necessary to give a feel of the process. This client wanted a lot more specifics than most. as a result I 've been giving him visual updates. The painting has about2- 3 more layers.
